Step 1: Identify Blind Spots
This step entails total honesty, willingness to dig deep and having a trusted friend, therapist or counselor at hand to provide guidance if necessary. Openly face your issues. For example having a fiery temper to the point of throwing things, slamming doors or worse. The temper needs to be dealt with but more importantly, you need to discover what lies behind temper. Maybe it could be an addiction that you are reluctant to face such as gambling, alcohol, drugs, lying, etc. Whatever the undesirable or painful issue is; you must be able, willing and ready to face it head on.
Step 2: Stop Blame Game
It is easier to go through life blaming problems on others. However the moment we take complete responsibility for our attitude is the day we grow up emotionally & the day we begin to discover who we truly are, our character deep within us. The blame game doesn’t change anything. It also includes blaming yourself. If you are stuck in this cycle – snap out of it! and break the blame chain.
Step 3: Forgive
Let go of hurtful or painful experiences, no matter how violent, deep, prolonged, how much effect on your life. If you do not extend forgiveness, you’re stuck with bitterness and revenge. A bitter person cannot effectively love others. Forgiving and letting go may not be easy especially when you feel the person has hurt you too deeply an does not deserve to be forgiven. However should extend forgiveness because of what it will do for you – forgiving yourself if needed. We may not have the option to pack up our emotions and ship them off to a faraway place but we have the option to take charge of them & choose how it will affect us for the rest of our lives. It’s really your choice. Here’s to choosing freedom!

9 Dec 2019Thank you for the motivation article, it definitely boosts me up. The part of “identifying the blind spot” really resonates with me. I should really be more aware to identify these.
